Summer Bags 2025: Summer with Elegance

Julien Fournié brings an unprecedented couture dimension to the summer season with his reimagining of the quintessential summer accessory: the summer bag.

True to his artisanal standards, the designer uses a color palette inspired by the elements — sea, sky, and light — and employs volumes and materials designed for the season.

Natural fibers, coated canvas, and precious leathers are combined to create bags that oscillate between the casual elegance of a seaside getaway and the sophisticated casualness of an afternoon in the city.

The 2025 summer bag collection by Julien Fournié is summed up in seven strong models that are metaphors for a universe where haute couture craftsmanship marries summer simplicity.

Each luxury summer bag is solid without being rigid, combining the precision of the Maison’s cuts with the casualness of a beach lined with coffee trees.

Each of these summer bags strikes the perfect balance between couture elegance and summer freedom. Julien Fournié showcases his technical expertise and attention to detail, offering pieces that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

Whether you’re looking for an oversized tote for a beach getaway, a small evening bag, or an exceptional piece woven from legend, the Julien Fournié Summer 2025 Collection is a refined extension of your wardrobe and an invitation to bring haute couture craftsmanship to your moments of relaxation.

1. The Marie Antoinette Clutch Bag

The Marie Antoinette luxury clutch is a must-have for summer.

A perfect blend of originality and refinement, its design is inspired by royal heritage and bold modernity.

Lightweight and carefully crafted, this exclusive piece will illuminate your summer evenings and elevate any outfit with its timeless elegance, giving you a chic look that embodies the essence of a refined summer.

2. The Premier Fuchsia Bag

The Premier Fuschia bag exudes bold, refined elegance and irresistible charm.

Embellished with Julien Fournié’s Hexagon monogram, the bag’s design blends modernity and tradition, offering versatility and originality to complement any outfit.

Its vibrant fuchsia color makes it the perfect summer companion. Thanks to its vibrant color, this handbag perfectly captures the spirit of summer. It’s ideal for complementing your sunny, casual looks.

3. The Mermaid Premier Bag

The mermaid embodies the magic of the tropical sea, with turquoise and violet leathers intertwining in poetic patchwork.

The base’s curve recalls a mermaid’s sensual form, and the python skin evokes her scales.

This luxurious model is for those who want to combine bold colors and couture refinement at the beach or on a rooftop.

4. The Elphaba Premier Bag

A masterpiece by Julien Fournié, the Premier Elphaba Bag is a work of haute couture jewelry that combines sophistication and audacity.

Crafted from black grained leather and adorned with emerald-faceted embroidery in mirrored Plexiglas, it evokes the magic of a summer sunset over the Mediterranean.

Its slender, detachable chain easily transforms the bag into an evening clutch or crossbody bag — the perfect companion for stylish summer adventures.

Whether you’re enjoying a glamorous summer by the sea or a city vacation, this bag will elevate your style with elegance and confidence. It’s an absolute must-have for the creative summer soul.

5. The Iceberg Premier Bag

Iceberg plays with a pale color palette, mixing luminous white with subtle touches of glacier blue for an almost translucent effect in the summer light.

The suede calfskin with an alligator flap gives it a unique texture that is light to the touch.

Its “nude” plunged lambskin interior with a double gusseted inside pocket and a zipped inside pocket combines elegance and practicality. Perfect for carrying your beach essentials, it will elevate your summer adventures with an irresistible touch of refinement.

Its sleek lines and spaciousness make it ideal for carrying, and its adjustable shoulder strap allows you to carry it three ways: over the shoulder, on the shoulder, or by hand. The Premier Iceberg Bag will quickly become your summer evening companion.

6. The Condor Premier Bag

The highlight of the summer collection, the Condor luxury bag captures the power of a bird in flight while showcasing the elegance of haute couture.

Crafted with embroidered feathers on a shimmering gold background, it evokes the glow of a Mediterranean sunset.

Its handcrafted finishes and meticulous interior make it the perfect companion for summer vacations, ideal for glamorous getaways and star-studded evenings reserved for those seeking unforgettable luxury.

7. The Blue Gold Saturne Tote Bag

First, the generous proportions of the Saturne tote bag seduce you. Its large format and double handle make it perfect for holding towels, sunscreen, and pocket novels.

Its monogrammed canvas with blue and gold accents evokes the ocean at sunset.

The finely braided side gussets give this summer bag a sculptural look, and the waterproof lining protects your belongings from summer spray and splashes.

About Julien Fournié Haute Couture

More than a fashion brand, Maison Julien Fournié is a luxury experience that transcends trends and seasons. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, Julien Fournié continues to redefine the world of ultra-luxury.

Julien Fournié was founded in 2009.

The history of the house is reflected in its haute couture collections, which are presented in Paris every January and July during Haute Couture Week.

For his first collection, the young couturier was awarded the Grand Prize for Creativity by the City of Paris in January 2010.

For his fourth collection, in January 2011, Julien Fournié became a “guest member” of the official calendar of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture catwalk shows. This was the first step towards recognizing Julien Fournié as a promising new brand in the circle of the great couturiers.

In January 2017, the Julien Fournié house was officially classified as “Haute Couture”. This label, protected by the French Ministry of Industry, is awarded to a few houses (only ten prestigious Haute Couture houses are currently on this list) that combine the best creativity in design and the highest quality in garment making.

Since its inception, Julien Fournié has also had the honor of being invited to show its collections at prestigious events abroad, in order to bring the couturier’s style to luxury clients from all over the world.

In March 2023, a Julien Fournié dress, worn by the actress Audrey Fleurot, entered the Grévin Museum in Paris.

In April 2023, the first retrospective of Julien Fournié’s work will be held at SCAD Lacoste in an exhibition entitled “Haute Couture un point c’est tout”.

While respecting tradition, Julien Fournié has also forged new partnerships with high-tech giants such as Apple and Tencent.

Julien Fournié has thus been able to digitize the creation, design and personalization of his haute couture pieces. He is one of the few haute couture designers to master the new digital tools.

Long regarded as a survivor of a bygone era, the haute couture market has experienced a new boom in recent years. Thanks to new technologies, Julien Fournié has been able to establish direct and unique means of communication with his clients. It is no longer a question of sending a sketch to the client for approval, as was the case in the past.

Julien Fournié has introduced a new process in which clients are no longer mere spectators of the creative process. They have become actors in the unique experience of creating a garment wherever they are.

Since December 2020, Julien Fournié has been developing a line of luxury bags and accessories. Initially, the idea was to offer handbags that could be seen in Julien Fournié shows and were previously reserved for haute couture customers.

Find Your Legend

A spectacular fashion show

On Thursday, June 5, Julien Fournié was the guest of honor at the Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week (AVIFW) in Ho Chi Minh City. This marked the first time that a French haute couture designer opened an event of this kind in Vietnam.

During the opening ceremony, Julien Fournié presented a spectacular fashion show featuring looks from his First Circus Haute Couture collection. Iconic looks from previous fashion shows also made an appearance.

With support from Aquafina, the 19th edition of the Vietnam International Fashion Week showcased the intersection of Vietnamese clothing traditions and international influences. Each season, AVIFW attracts thousands of visitors, including customers, buyers, journalists, influencers, and fashion enthusiasts, who come to admire ready-to-wear, streetwear, and this year, haute couture fashion shows. By inviting Julien Fournié, one of the most daring designers on the Parisian scene, the organizers demonstrated their desire to establish Ho Chi Minh City as the new Asian capital of creative fashion.

A graduate of the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Julien Fournié is renowned for his sculptural approach to clothing and his fascination with ancestral craftsmanship. Since founding his fashion house in 2009, he has combined traditional techniques with cutting-edge technology to create modern silhouettes while respecting the tradition of haute couture. This consistency earned him a place in the exclusive club of fashion houses with the Haute Couture label in 2018.

Julien Fournié has had a connection with Asia for several years. He has participated in Vietnam Fashion Week and presented his collections in a fashion show in Singapore, among other places. His participation in AVIFW is part of a process of cultural dialogue and the sharing of craftsmanship skills. During the opening ceremony, the audience enjoyed a spectacular fashion show featuring around thirty looks.

Beyond the artistic performance, this collaboration opens new perspectives for local designers. The day after the show, Julien Fournié led a masterclass for young designers and local artisans. He shared his analysis of recent developments in the luxury industry, his vision of fashion, and his methods of cutting and working with volumes, with a focus on Haute Couture. This initiative is part of a sustainable approach to passing on expertise, which is essential for nurturing the next generation of Vietnamese talent.

Julien Fournié‘s participation in Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week highlights Southeast Asia’s growing importance on the global fashion map. It also demonstrates haute couture’s ability to reinvent itself by drawing on unexpected influences, such as the circus, while forging strong intercultural ties. A new chapter in fashion history has been written between Paris and Ho Chi Minh City, where the art of clothing unites tradition, innovation, and dreams.

Việt Nam News reporter Phương Mai speaks with Fournié about his performance at the Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week

Inner SanctumWhat are your impressions of Vietnamese fashion and designers?

There is much energy among Vietnamese fashion designers. Sài Gòn [former name of HCM City] used to be considered the Paris of the East for fashion, and there is a lot of know-how here about fashion, stitching, swinging, and embellishing garments.

I intend to introduce Haute Couture here in Việt Nam Fashion Week. There is still a long way to go to master all the techniques, but I think the Vietnamese fashion ecosystem has a unique potential for this.

Julien Fournié will show at Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on June 5th

Find Your Legend

Guest of honor at Vietnam International Fashion Week

Julien Fournié will be the guest of honor at Vietnam International Fashion Week (VIFW) Spring-Summer 2025, in which 16 local and international designers will showcase their collections on the catwalk.

This is not Julien Fournié’s first time in Vietnam. Vietnam International Fashion Week had already welcomed him in 2015, exactly 10 years ago.

Vietnam International Fashion Week
The finale of Julien Fournié’s show at Vietnam International Fashion Week 2015

« Since then ,» says the founder of this House now recognized as one of the 10 only official members of Haute Couture, « I have fine-tuned the techniques and know-hows specific to Haute Couture and I am constantly collaborating with the best craftsmen across the world. I am happy to come back to Vietnam International Fashion Week during the year when I am also celebrating my 50th birthday .»

Reaching the age of 50, Julien Fournié is now feeling completely free to reveal what has always been with him: enthusiasm, dreaming, dancing… In short, everything that has driven him and set him in motion since he was a child. In the house that bears his name and which he founded together with Jean-Paul Cauvin 16 years ago, he doesn’t really design and make fashion pieces, he creates Haute Couture outfits for characters. This is all summed up in the House’s motto: Find Your Legend.

Movies, cartoons and music from the 1990s are the roots of Julien Fournié’s main inspirations.

« When I was a young teenager, my bedroom was my shelter. It was filled with fantastic figures: small statues of superheroes, mangas, princesses… », says Julien Fournié.

« These characters have accompanied me in all my battles and they are still populating my imagination today. Of course, they have now all grown up in my mind. First Circus is meant to reveal them in full light because they have always acted as protective talismans for my creative soul .»

Julien Fournié is offering with First Circus an ultra-luxury wardrobe, including both womenswear and menswear, inspired by the characters who have haunted his imagination.

« I have put them on stage at Théâtre Mogador during Paris Haute Couture Week in an incredible theatrical show ,» says the dancing Grand Couturier.

« Now, as a guest of honor at Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week, I am very proud to showcase this collection in Ho Chi Minh City. »

From Julien Fournié’s new version of Alice’s White Rabbit, or the Princess who has broken the magic mirror, the Female Clown from a black-and-white movie, the Starship Troopers chasing the Aliens, the Constellation Queen, or the impressive Circus Ringmaster… Each of these figures could come out of an animated film. This is what continues to fascinate Julien Fournié when he is looking at the metaverse.

« Far from only considering how to integrate in the virtual world architectured garments with multiple layers of fabrics, I also want to incorporate on female and male bodies in our real world, the aesthetics of the animated films that have made us dream since childhood .»

Indeed, this is more than fashion. Down with trends! Move on towards finding the best clothing expression of your own individual self: this is the core message of Haute Couture. An independent Haute Couture House like Julien Fournié feels free to create and offer its customers legendary outfits for ladies and gentlemen who give themselves the chance to acquire them and wear them under the right circumstances.

Each look in this collection is an original work of textile art, through the mastery in its construction, but also through the selected colors and their incredible embellishments. Many craftsmen around the world contribute through their technical skills to making Julien Fournié’s fantasies come true. Just like the tailors and seamstresses in the Julien Fournié workshop, they comply with all his designs and demanding sewing technique requirements.

« My special thanks are going to Madame Trang Le, the founder of Vietnam International Fashion Week, and to Madame Tran Nguyen Thien Huong, the soul of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam, who have been consistently supporting us over the past 10 years, as well as to all the Vietnamese friends and celebrities who have acquired and/or worn our outfits: you are always in my heart and I am very much looking forward to meeting you all in June to share the joy I find in dreaming, sketching, sewing, and performing .»
