Julien Fournié’s Haute Couture show
Julien Fournié set Ho Chi Minh City ablaze with his haute couture fashion show
Julien Fournié made a significant mark on the international fashion scene when he presented his Haute Couture collection at the prestigious Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week (VIFW) in Ho Chi Minh City on June 5, 2025. The French couturier was the guest of honor at the event and presented a flamboyant haute couture show that blended artisanal virtuosity, cinematic aesthetics, and heartfelt emotion.
A colorful collection
Originally unveiled in January at the Théâtre Mogador in Paris, the collection took on a new, almost magical dimension in Ho Chi Minh City. In Ho Chi Minh City, with the addition of iconic looks from previous collections.
This haute couture show, held outside of Europe, celebrated the creativity of Maison Julien Fournié and the designer’s 50th birthday, as well as his 16 years of commitment to haute couture.
Drawing inspiration from the world of the circus, Parisian cabarets, and animated films, the collection unfolded like a dreamlike revue.
Childhood dreams with adult sophistication
The magical and theatrical silhouettes evoked modern princesses, manga heroines, and Hollywood divas. Each outfit seemed to tell a story, balancing childhood dreams with adult sophistication.
As always, Julien Fournié’s show centered on savoir-faire. Precious embroidery, architectural volumes, and superimpositions of noble fabrics revealed the excellence of the Parisian House‘s workshops. The models, both male and female, wore the creations as if they were poetic suits of armor, embodying a balance of strength and fragility.
Bold vision of fashion
The couturier said he wanted to “transpose the aesthetics of the animated films that have made us dream since childhood onto the bodies of men and women in the real world.” This ambition was a success, as the show captivated a Vietnamese audience won over by this bold vision of fashion.
This return to Vietnam, ten years after his first appearance at VIFW in 2015, highlights Asia’s growing importance in major fashion houses’ strategies. For Julien Fournié, this haute couture show was also a tribute to a region of the world that is curious, demanding, and passionate about haute couture.
The magic of haute couture
It was a moment suspended between French tradition and Asian modernity, confirming that the magic of couture knows no borders.

About Julien Fournié
More than a fashion brand, Maison Julien Fournié is a luxury experience that transcends trends and seasons. Driven by a commitment to excellence and innovation, Julien Fournié continuously redefines the world of ultra-luxury.
Founded in 2009, the house’s history is woven into its haute couture collections, presented in Paris every January and July during Haute Couture Week. For his debut collection, the young couturier was awarded the Grand Prize for Creativity by the City of Paris in January 2010. By his fourth collection in January 2011, Julien Fournié became a guest member of the official calendar of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture — a first step towards recognition among the great couturiers.
In January 2017, Maison Julien Fournié was officially classified as Haute Couture. This prestigious label, protected by the French Ministry of Industry, is held by only a handful of houses — currently ten — that unite the highest creativity in design with the finest standards of garment making.
Since its inception, the house has been invited to present its collections at prestigious events worldwide, bringing the couturier’s vision to luxury clients across the globe. In March 2023, a Julien Fournié gown worn by actress Audrey Fleurot entered the Musée Grévin in Paris. In April 2023, the first retrospective of Julien Fournié’s work was held at SCAD Lacoste, in an exhibition entitled Haute Couture, un point c’est tout.
While honouring tradition, Julien Fournié has forged bold partnerships with high-tech leaders such as Apple and Tencent, digitising the creation, design and personalisation of his haute couture pieces. He stands among the rare couturiers to fully master the new digital tools. Clients are no longer mere spectators of the creative process — they have become active participants in the singular experience of creating a garment, wherever they may be.
Since December 2020, Julien Fournié has been developing a line of luxury bags and accessories, initially conceived to offer the iconic pieces seen on the runway — previously reserved for haute couture clients — to a wider audience.
