Barbie goes to Versailles

Find Your Legend

Chapter 21

When Barbie goes to Versailles

This fourth look from the Haute Couture Last Queen collection features a tulle underskirt and dress.

The petticoat, like a peony, is composed of a multitude of layers of gradient pink tulle (800 meters of tulle) covered with a final layer of fuchsia gradient petal pink chiffon.

The whole is gathered at the waist to create an 18th-century vertugadin.

The short-sleeved dress is in soft pink tulle. It is gathered at the back, with stop-cords for an up-to-date look. The dress is embroidered with a multitude of chandelier motifs, a signature of Maison Julien Fournié Haute Couture, transparent crystal beads, silver threads and glittering aurora borealis-colored crystals.

The dress is adorned at the waist with peonies in silk organiza and gradient pink feathers.

The earrings and Ex-Voto brooch are in crystallized gunmetal. In the center, a mysterious cabochon is in faceted fuchsia crystal. On the earrings, a heart pendant is in soft pink crystal.

The new version of the Pollux tote bag features a changing aurora borealis fabric screen-printed with the Hexagon monogram, the signature of Maison Julien Fournié. The monogram is in the colors of Princess Peach from the video game Mario Bros. This Tote Bag is finished in Azur blue, Marie Antoinette’s favorite color.

The capeline is in peony raffia. It is accessorized with roses in coordinating silk organza.

Elza Matiz is the ultimate Barbie, coming to Versailles in all her finery.

A Margot Robbie look-alike, we had fun adding a blond to her look with Jack from Salon Neville.

As for Nicolas Degennes, he enhanced his eighteenth-century make-up with a line of eyeliner that was very much of the ’50s.

Thank you, Elza, for your enthusiasm and professionalism. You made one of my childhood dreams come true.
