Find Your Legend
Guest of honor at Vietnam International Fashion Week
Julien Fournié will be the guest of honor at Vietnam International Fashion Week (VIFW) Spring-Summer 2025, in which 16 local and international designers will showcase their collections on the catwalk.
This is not Julien Fournié’s first time in Vietnam. Vietnam International Fashion Week had already welcomed him in 2015, exactly 10 years ago.

« Since then ,» says the founder of this House now recognized as one of the 10 only official members of Haute Couture, « I have fine-tuned the techniques and know-hows specific to Haute Couture and I am constantly collaborating with the best craftsmen across the world. I am happy to come back to Vietnam International Fashion Week during the year when I am also celebrating my 50th birthday .»
Reaching the age of 50, Julien Fournié is now feeling completely free to reveal what has always been with him: enthusiasm, dreaming, dancing… In short, everything that has driven him and set him in motion since he was a child. In the house that bears his name and which he founded together with Jean-Paul Cauvin 16 years ago, he doesn’t really design and make fashion pieces, he creates Haute Couture outfits for characters. This is all summed up in the House’s motto: Find Your Legend.
Movies, cartoons and music from the 1990s are the roots of Julien Fournié’s main inspirations.
« When I was a young teenager, my bedroom was my shelter. It was filled with fantastic figures: small statues of superheroes, mangas, princesses… », says Julien Fournié.
« These characters have accompanied me in all my battles and they are still populating my imagination today. Of course, they have now all grown up in my mind. First Circus is meant to reveal them in full light because they have always acted as protective talismans for my creative soul .»
Julien Fournié is offering with First Circus an ultra-luxury wardrobe, including both womenswear and menswear, inspired by the characters who have haunted his imagination.
« I have put them on stage at Théâtre Mogador during Paris Haute Couture Week in an incredible theatrical show ,» says the dancing Grand Couturier.
« Now, as a guest of honor at Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week, I am very proud to showcase this collection in Ho Chi Minh City. »
From Julien Fournié’s new version of Alice’s White Rabbit, or the Princess who has broken the magic mirror, the Female Clown from a black-and-white movie, the Starship Troopers chasing the Aliens, the Constellation Queen, or the impressive Circus Ringmaster… Each of these figures could come out of an animated film. This is what continues to fascinate Julien Fournié when he is looking at the metaverse.
« Far from only considering how to integrate in the virtual world architectured garments with multiple layers of fabrics, I also want to incorporate on female and male bodies in our real world, the aesthetics of the animated films that have made us dream since childhood .»
Indeed, this is more than fashion. Down with trends! Move on towards finding the best clothing expression of your own individual self: this is the core message of Haute Couture. An independent Haute Couture House like Julien Fournié feels free to create and offer its customers legendary outfits for ladies and gentlemen who give themselves the chance to acquire them and wear them under the right circumstances.
Each look in this collection is an original work of textile art, through the mastery in its construction, but also through the selected colors and their incredible embellishments. Many craftsmen around the world contribute through their technical skills to making Julien Fournié’s fantasies come true. Just like the tailors and seamstresses in the Julien Fournié workshop, they comply with all his designs and demanding sewing technique requirements.
« My special thanks are going to Madame Trang Le, the founder of Vietnam International Fashion Week, and to Madame Tran Nguyen Thien Huong, the soul of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam, who have been consistently supporting us over the past 10 years, as well as to all the Vietnamese friends and celebrities who have acquired and/or worn our outfits: you are always in my heart and I am very much looking forward to meeting you all in June to share the joy I find in dreaming, sketching, sewing, and performing .»

More than a fashion brand, Maison Julien Fournié is a luxury experience that transcends trends and seasons. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, Julien Fournié continues to redefine the world of ultra-luxury.
Julien Fournié was founded in 2009.
The history of the house is reflected in its haute couture collections, which are presented in Paris every January and July during Haute Couture Week.
For his first collection, the young couturier was awarded the Grand Prize for Creativity by the City of Paris in January 2010.
For his fourth collection, in January 2011, Julien Fournié became a “guest member” of the official calendar of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture catwalk shows. This was the first step towards recognizing Julien Fournié as a promising new brand in the circle of the great couturiers.
In January 2017, the Julien Fournié house was officially classified as “Haute Couture”. This label, protected by the French Ministry of Industry, is awarded to a few houses (only ten prestigious Haute Couture houses are currently on this list) that combine the best creativity in design and the highest quality in garment making.
Since its inception, Julien Fournié has also had the honor of being invited to show its collections at prestigious events abroad, in order to bring the couturier’s style to luxury clients from all over the world.
In March 2023, a Julien Fournié dress, worn by the actress Audrey Fleurot, entered the Grévin Museum in Paris.
In April 2023, the first retrospective of Julien Fournié’s work will be held at SCAD Lacoste in an exhibition entitled “Haute Couture un point c’est tout”.
While respecting tradition, Julien Fournié has also forged new partnerships with high-tech giants such as Apple and Tencent.
Julien Fournié has thus been able to digitize the creation, design and personalization of his haute couture pieces. He is one of the few haute couture designers to master the new digital tools.
Long regarded as a survivor of a bygone era, the haute couture market has experienced a new boom in recent years. Thanks to new technologies, Julien Fournié has been able to establish direct and unique means of communication with his clients. It is no longer a question of sending a sketch to the client for approval, as was the case in the past.
Julien Fournié has introduced a new process in which clients are no longer mere spectators of the creative process. They have become actors in the unique experience of creating a garment wherever they are.
Since December 2020, Julien Fournié has been developing a line of luxury bags and accessories. Initially, the idea was to offer handbags that could be seen in Julien Fournié shows and were previously reserved for haute couture customers.
