The seemingly desolate and sleepy town of Lacoste boasts a history to match the most popular spots on the map of France. It is here, in the heart of Provence, that the Marquis de Sade indulged in debauchery, Pierre Cardin staged operas, and the SCAD school educates new generations of artists and designers.
So far, the building on Rue du Four, which has been adapted for the museum, has hosted retrospectives of Isabel Toledo and Azzedine Alaï. This year, the gallery rooms were filled with Haute Couture creations by Julien Fournié, as well as designs by Christian Lacroix.
