About Julien Fournié

Founded in 2009 by couturier Julien Fournié, the House of Julien Fournié is built around what the designer describes as his true “laboratory”: Haute Couture. Its evolution is expressed through the collections unveiled each January and July in Paris during Haute Couture Week.

The debut collection, First Pieces, presented in June 2009, established the Maison’s distinctive codes: signature back cut-outs, Art Deco lace, and the interplay of noble fabrics—silk drape, muslin, organza—with innovative materials. This inaugural vision earned Julien Fournié the Grand Prix de la Création from the City of Paris in January 2010.

First Haute Couture runway

With his fourth collection, presented in January 2011, Julien Fournié entered the official Haute Couture calendar as a “guest member,” marking his recognition among the emerging talents of the couture sphere. On this occasion, he made history by presenting the first Haute Couture collection exclusively worn by Black models.

That same year, in partnership with Dassault Systèmes, he co-founded FashionLab, a pioneering incubator at the intersection of fashion and 3D design. Convinced of the transformative power of digital innovation, the collaboration has since explored new frontiers in garments, footwear, materials sourcing, and retail. Developed using FashionLab’s 3D technologies, Julien Fournié’s shoe collections—featured in every runway since July 2014—are available to Haute Couture clients through bespoke orders.

Prestigious label

In January 2017, the House was officially granted the designation of “Haute Couture.” This prestigious label, protected by the French Ministry of Industry, is reserved for a select circle of houses—only sixteen to date—recognized for their creative excellence and uncompromising craftsmanship.

International presence

From its earliest days, Julien Fournié has showcased his collections internationally at prestigious events, bringing his couture vision directly to a global clientele.

The House has presented collections three times in Singapore, as well as in Stockholm in November 2012, where it unveiled its “First Retrospective” in the ceremonial hall of the City Hall. In October 2015, the “First Initiation” collection opened Vietnam International Fashion Week in Ho Chi Minh City. In October 2018, the Maison participated in the “French Touch” gala at Warsaw’s Wielki Theatre, broadcast on national television to celebrate French artistry and luxury. In june 2025, the “First Circus” collection opened Vietnam International Fashion Week in Ho Chi Minh City.

Couture and innovation

While honoring the heritage of Haute Couture, Julien Fournié has embraced cutting-edge collaborations with technology leaders such as Apple and Tencent. Among the rare couturiers to fully master digital tools, he has redefined the creation and personalization process.

Haute Couture is no longer confined to traditional methods. Through new technologies, Julien Fournié has established a direct and immersive dialogue with his clients. Rather than simply approving sketches, clients become active participants in the creative journey—wherever they are in the world.

A pioneer in digital integration, he has also brought his designs into the realm of video games through a collaboration with PUBG Mobile, introducing entirely new ways of presenting Haute Couture.

Haute Couture bags

Since December 2020, the Maison has expanded into a line of luxury bags and accessories. Initially conceived to offer handbags seen on the Haute Couture runway—once reserved exclusively for couture clients—the collection has since grown to include evening clutches, tote bags, and structured handbags.

Each piece is crafted with the utmost respect for artisanal traditions and exceptional savoir-faire. These creations are currently available exclusively through the House’s online boutique.
