On Thursday, June 5, Julien Fourni\u00e9 was the guest of honor at the Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week (AVIFW) in Ho Chi Minh City. This marked the first time that a French haute couture designer opened an event of this kind in Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the opening ceremony, Julien Fourni\u00e9 presented a spectacular fashion show featuring looks from his First Circus Haute Couture collection. Iconic looks from previous fashion shows also made an appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With support from Aquafina, the 19th edition of the Vietnam International Fashion Week showcased the intersection of Vietnamese clothing traditions and international influences. Each season, AVIFW attracts thousands of visitors, including customers, buyers, journalists, influencers, and fashion enthusiasts, who come to admire ready-to-wear, streetwear, and this year, haute couture fashion shows. By inviting Julien Fourni\u00e9, one of the most daring designers on the Parisian scene, the organizers demonstrated their desire to establish Ho Chi Minh City as the new Asian capital of creative fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A graduate of the \u00c9cole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Julien Fourni\u00e9 is renowned for his sculptural approach to clothing and his fascination with ancestral craftsmanship. Since founding his fashion house in 2009, he has combined traditional techniques with cutting-edge technology to create modern silhouettes while respecting the tradition of haute couture. This consistency earned him a place in the exclusive club of fashion houses with the Haute Couture label in 2018.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Julien Fourni\u00e9 has had a connection with Asia for several years. He has participated in Vietnam Fashion Week and presented his collections in a fashion show in Singapore, among other places. His participation in AVIFW is part of a process of cultural dialogue and the sharing of craftsmanship skills. During the opening ceremony, the audience enjoyed a spectacular fashion show featuring around thirty looks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the artistic performance, this collaboration opens new perspectives for local designers. The day after the show, Julien Fourni\u00e9 led a masterclass for young designers and local artisans. He shared his analysis of recent developments in the luxury industry, his vision of fashion, and his methods of cutting and working with volumes, with a focus on Haute Couture. This initiative is part of a sustainable approach to passing on expertise, which is essential for nurturing the next generation of Vietnamese talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
